NEW ZEALAND - Land of Contrasts
New Zealand, an island nation in the South Pacific, offers the visitor an unspoiled, clean, friendly retreat from the pressures of a busy life. It is a land of spectacular contrasts, ranging from semitropical beaches in the north to glaciers in the south. The South Island, the larger of the two main islands, is dominated by the Southern Alps, the mountain range that runs virtually the entire length.
This sparsely populated island is a region of highly efficient agricultural production on fertile plains and downlands, but inland there are vast tracts of tussock grassland, dense forests and spectacular mountains, lakes and rivers.
Travel New Zealand is well serviced by international airlines, the two main points of entry being the international airports of Auckland in the North Island and Christchurch in the South. Internal travel by commuter airlines and road is excellent. Note that New Zealanders drive on the left hand side of the road.
New Zealanders New Zealand, a former British colony, is governed by parliamentary democracy and retains British traditions of law and customs blended with indigenous Maori culture. The official languages are English and Maori. The population, 75% of whom live in the North Island, are a multicultural mix of Polynesian, European and Asian. New Zealand is an egalitarian society with stable government and a friendly, relaxed population of less than 4 million.
We offer both "FREE & WILD" hunts and "GAME RANCH" hunts.
Our concessions cover several hundred thousand acres of the Southern Alps in the South Island, including access to several exclusive areas and private game estates. The NZ alpine concessions range up to 7000 feet in altitude, with glaciers and permanent snowfields.
We also have concessions in New Caledonia for Rusa Stag and Australia for Buffalo, Banteng or Boars.
The main animals of interest in New Zealand are; Thar, Chamois, Red Stag, Sika Stag, Fallow, Whitetail and Wapiti. We can also offer Duck and Goose hunts, as well as Boar, Feral Ram, Feral Goat and Wallaby.
In Australia we can offer: Buffalo, Banteng, Boar, Axis, Sambar and Hog Deer as well as Javan and Moluccan Rusa Stags plus Blackbuck. We can also offer extensive culling hunts which are required to reduce the numbers of feral animals in the "OUTBACK".
Seasons in New Zealand are long and the bag limits are generous, formal seasons apply to Ducks and Geese only, usually opening in May and extending until July. Typically the bag limits are 20 ducks and NO limit on Canada Geese.
We normally conduct hunts for Big Game (Thar etc.) from late March (fall) until September, with April to August, being the prime time for Chamois & Thar. The best time for Red, Wapiti and Sika Stag is April however they can be taken until August, the other deer species rut at different times but all can be secured thru out the season. Buffalo/Banteng hunts usually start in late April or May when the wet season is over. We enjoy a high success rate on all our hunts.
